Community Meals

Community meals happen organically when cooks and clean up folks join together in our well equipped kitchen. Some of our best-shared meals are potlucks, BBQ’s and pizza night. Breakfast is a great kick off to workdays in the garden. Celebrating holidays, birthdays and festivities happens in our lovely dining room.

MeetingsAs a community we meet monthly to discuss issues, events, budget, and hear proposals from committees. Our decisions are made using the CODEM process, allowing everyone to participate and be heard.
Residents join committees that research common issues and make recommendations to aid community-wide decision-making. The Coordinating Council oversees and guides the agendas for the monthly general meetings. Occasional workshops bring the community together to discuss issues in more depth, learn and practice communication and other community building skills. |

Work DaysWe have monthly workdays. Together, we take on the maintenance and upkeep of the garden, landscaping and buildings. Working together is fun, builds our community connections and saves our HOA money.

Vegetable GardensOur organic gardeners enjoy working in individual vegetable gardens. We all take part in care of the fruit trees. Our shared seasonal produce includes apples, figs, lemons, pears, persimmons, grapes, pomegranates and plums.

A Yulupa Cohousing value is sustainability, and we follow green practices throughout the community.

Hanging Out at YCHStop for a chat with a neighbor, hang out with the kids, read a book in the courtyard or library, attend a movie night or dine at a potluck barbeque.
