Welcome to our Cohousing Community!

Residents of all ages share our urban cohousing community in Santa Rosa, California. We're at the heart of Sonoma County wine country, with the magnificent Pacific coast and public parks of towering redwoods nearby. We enjoy year-round hiking, biking, music, theaters, museums and more. It's an easy daytrip to San Francisco or Napa, too.

Designed by an architect as a intentional cohousing community, Yulupa's 29 individually owned condominiums and townhomes surround a lush green courtyard. Our homes and commonly owned spaces are graced by the b
old, colorful building designs and sustainable, drought-tolerant, pollinator-friendly landscaping.

Owners and renters are part of an HOA. We share the governance, management and maintenance of our complex, including the large Common House, workshop, guest and exercise rooms, children's playground, EV charging hookups, covered and uncovered parking and garden areas. Solar panels generate electricity for shared spaces, and a well provides water for landscaping.

Common House

The large Common House provides a well-stocked community kitchen and dining room-multipurpose room for group meals, community and committee meetings and social events (resident art shows, ping pong and foosball are fun favorites). The Common House patio is a favorite place for parties outdoors, BBQs or hanging out.

There's a shared laundry room, kids’ playroom and a library-living room for small gatherings, such as book groups or movie nights.

Workshop & Garden Shed

Yulupa has the DIY spirit! The workshop offers space and tools for hands-on projects, such as woodworking and bicycle repairs, as well as repairs we do together on our facilities.

We share garden tools, too. We enjoy working together to keep our landscape healthy and beautiful is fun and builds our connections as a community.

Individual Garden Spaces and Bike Storage

We enjoy the bounty from our individual vegetable gardens and our shared fruit bushes and trees. Trione-Annadel State Park, a mile away, has great walking and mountain biking trails. Bike owners can access locked storage rooms. Our property is adjacent to the future public Southeast Greenway that is likely to include bike lanes, playing fields and more.
