Cohousing describes an intentional community of residents living together on a shared property. Under California law, Yulupa Co-housing is a condominium complex—with privately, individually owned units—designed to foster connection and community among its members. At Yulupa Cohousing, housing units are arranged around a central courtyard. Shared facilities include indoor and outdoor places to dine and gather together, kitchen, laundry, workshop, gym and children's playground. Yulupa Cohousing aims to be a supportive, diverse, intergenerational community, whose members share governance, committee and other work and social events.

May I stay in your Guest Room while I am in town?
Throughout the year, our guest room is reserved for members and their guests. However, we may be able to host you overnight for an event or Work Day. Please email the Membership Committee with your request.

Do the units have private yards?
The four townhouses and one downstairs 3-bedroom unit have small private backyards. All other units have either a porch or a balcony and many are shared with the adjoining unit.
Are pets allowed?
We allow one pet per unit. Waivers to grandfather in additional pets, if they are already part of the family, may be approved by the YCH Board of Directors. Dogs must be kept on leash in the shared outdoor spaces. Cats are allowed outdoors, but we encourage cat owners to keep cats indoor for the health of wild bird populations and to keep them from using garden beds as litterboxes.
