Yulupa Cohousing!
Yulupa Art Trails
In 2007 we had our first in-house Art Trails. Our artistic members showcased their artwork in their homes. The children displayed their art in the Common House. Going from house to house gave us a window into people’s artistic lives. Our wine-tasting and potluck dinner afterwards included hand-churned ice cream.
halloween
Annual pumpkin carving, Halloween costume party, and haunted house. Our teens transform the Kid’s Room into a Haunted House with guided tours that scare ya!
Variety Show
Our variety show is now an annual event that showcases Yulupians’ talents: music, skits, jokes, poetry, and improv, along with “public service announcements” from the Green Team.
Day of the Dead
To remember those who have died, we create an altar with photos, flowers, mementos, and decorated sugar skulls in the Common House.
Annual Open House
Once a year we host an Open House for our friends, neighbors, and greater Santa Rosa community. Gathering with food and music, we celebrate the diversity and growth of our community.
Holiday Events
Our community recognizes the diversity of our members and our world by celebrating holidays and the season’s passing.
Progressive Dinner
Getting to know our neighbors by holding a progressive meal was great fun. Hor d’oeuvres at one place, salad another, main course a third, and dessert at a fourth. We divided up into 4 groups and spent a delicious and more intimate evening together.
Yulupa Trips
We’ve had great fun rooting on the Oakland A’s at a home game, picnics at the local regional parks, renting a public pool after hours, seeing independent films together at the local movie theater, group bike rides, camping and star gazing, and going to political demonstrations.
Cohousing US Tours
We are featured on the quarterly Northern California Cohousing Tour, a one day tour organized through the Cohousing Association of US. A guided bus tour of people interested in cohousing visits us and cohousing communities in Davis, Berkeley, Oakland, Cotati, Sebastopol, and others to get a taste of our regional cohousing communities for a day..
